5 Buzzwords you should use in your conversations.

Last week, I was in a discussion with some of my colleagues discussing current events happening within our business sphere. Our discussion gradually towed to the rise of cryptocurrency, how it may evolve the way we accept monetary transactions in the future and the Nigerian government’s bid to regulate all forms of cryptocurrency operations.
During our conversation I heard a fascinating word that caught my attention. In my previous article, I highlighted how I try to learn new things from these kind of conversations, so that word really piqued my interest. The word was “fomo” (sometimes used in uppercase as FOMO). My colleague intermittently used this word and at some point I thought it was an indigenous term, a street slang or even an Italian brand. However my curiosity did not let me be, so I asked my colleague that knowledge-seeking question — “What is the meaning of fomo?” He enlightened me and explained that fomo simply means the fear of missing out and is a common term associated with cryptocurrency.
I did a little more research and got a more comprehensive definition of that unique word. The Merriam-Webster dictionary further explains this word as “…fear of not being included in something (such as an interesting or enjoyable activity) that others are experiencing.”
This little, yet amazing discovery got me intrigued about how we can create new terms from a trending or popular event and make it appealing. Buzzwords have also made their way into the business sphere. A couple of business leaders and even top brands have also incorporated them in their vocabulary in order to appeal to their employees and their teeming millennial audience.
I snooped around and I was able to highlight 5 basic buzzwords you should know and may choose to use in your daily conversations.
